Restore Your Sense of Passion for life

Therapy for anxiety and depression

Do you ever feel stuck in an endless loop of fear and worry? Do you feel your passion for life slipping away? When depression and anxiety overcome our lives, we may find ourselves withdrawing from our daily routines and isolating ourselves from maintaining relationships.

Everyone has feelings of anxiety at different moments in life whether it’s the first day of a new job, meeting your partner’s family, or introducing yourself to new people. In some cases, anxiety can be helpful by heightening our reactions to potential threats or discomfort. These momentary instances of anxiety are normal, but if anxiety becomes severe or consistent, it can be challenging to cope with daily life. Nearly 50% of people who are diagnosed with depression are also diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. Unlike anxiety, depression is a mood disorder that often results in an ongoing feeling of sadness and loss of interest.

Therapy can help you learn to cope with depression and manage anxiety so that you can get back to enjoying the activities and relationships that mean the most to you. Schedule a consultation to learn more about our mental health services.

release yourself from the weight of trauma

Therapy for trauma

When we experience trauma, our minds and bodies store those memories in ways that shape our habits, interactions, and relationships. Trauma can have a profound impact on both your mind and body. Traumatic experiences can cause a range of psychological and physical symptoms, from intense feelings of fear and distress to physical symptoms such as headaches, muscle tension, and digestive issues.

Psychologically, trauma can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, and guilt. It can also interfere with your ability to concentrate, remember details, and make decisions. On the physical side, trauma can cause chronic pain, fatigue, and insomnia. In addition, it can increase your risk for developing conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes. Trauma can also disrupt your body’s natural stress response, leading to hyperarousal, hypervigilance, and difficulties with consistent self-care.

Therapy can help you to process your experiences and heal from trauma so that you can achieve inner peace and release yourself from the weight of the past.

Eye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

EMDR Therapy

Confronting and overcoming trauma requires self-reflection, reprocessing experiences, and reframing our present-day responses to traumatic situations and any associated triggers.

EMDR is a psychotherapy technique that is used to relieve symptoms of distress associated with disturbing memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing involves recalling a specific experience while following a visual stimulus delivered by a qualified therapist. The resulting lateral eye movements can help reduce the emotional weight of the memory so that the experience can be discussed safely and stripped of the power to trigger harmful physical or emotional reactions.

EMDR Therapy is an experiential process-oriented therapy that integrates all levels of experience; cognition, emotion, and a body/somatic. EMDR therapy has been extensively researched and is widely recognized as a highly effective evidenced-based treatment for PTSD and other trauma and stress related disorders.

Unpack Heavy Trauma At A Faster Pace

EMDR Intensives

Imagine hiking up the mountain of life with a backpack full of trauma stones. These stones are large boulders and small pebbles made up of the hurt and trauma you have endured throughout life. Just when your backpack starts to feel too heavy, you meet a compassionate passerby who sees you struggling to carry your load. You feel relieved that you are not alone. You notice the weight being lifted from your mind and body as they tell you to relax your shoulders and allow them to remove the largest stones immediately, so that you can breathe and continue your journey in peace. This is what an EMDR Intensive feels like.

EMDR Intensives are effective for trauma recovery. Whether you are carrying symptoms of distress in your mind, body, or spirit, an EMDR Intensive can help you shift your perspective and take back your sense of personal power.

Our intensive therapy is a completely customizable treatment plan that allows people to do more therapy in less time, overall reducing time in treatment and getting people to their goals faster. We will meet for an initial session to determine your needs and fit for this kind of therapy. If the fit is right, we will determine how many hours in a week will be optimal for you according to your treatment goals. This can range from a half day of therapy to several days of therapy in one week.

Grieving looks different for everyone. Grieving is a very personal process and no two people grieve in the same way. Your unique way of grieving is valid. Therapy can provide you with the time to honor your feelings in whatever way feels right for you.

Grief is a normal response to loss and can be a difficult and overwhelming experience. It is important to recognize when it is time to seek help if your grief is beginning to interfere with your daily life. If your grief is persistent and impacting your ability to live your life, this is a sign that it may be time to seek professional help. Approach The Transitions of Life With Confidence

Therapy for life transitions

Whether you’re starting a new career, entering a new living arrangement, experiencing changes in your relationships, or approaching first-time parenthood, therapy is a safe space for you to express your true feelings about any of the curveballs life may throw your way.

Self-reflection and self-discovery are important tools in helping us to embrace change and face life’s transitions with confidence. Taking time to reflect on our thoughts, feelings, and experiences can give us a deeper understanding of our strengths, weaknesses, and potential. This knowledge can then be applied to our current and future situations to help us make informed decisions that can lead to positive outcomes. Talking to a therapist can help us to gain a better understanding of our needs and desires, enabling us to identify and pursue goals that align with our values. With this newfound clarity, we can approach life’s transitions and changes with a sense of purpose and optimism.

Therapy can help us to better navigate life’s ever-changing landscape and come out confidently on the other side.
